The Boy From the Woods by Harlan Coben

As someone who has read DOZENS of Harlan‘s books, The Boy From the Woods is hands-down my favorite. Go buy it now. I’ll wait.

Boy is the perfect vacation read. It’s not heavy (as in hard), but it’s rich and layered, with one of my favorite literary role models of all time, Hester Crimstein. (She is such a BOSS.) The storyline is mysterious, riveting, and satisfying, paced perfectly. The whole feel of this one was exactly what I needed right now. Also the minute I was done I texted him (yes, we’re friends!) and said, “Please start writing a second Boy book right now thanks bye.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m blowing through books faster than ever during this pandemic, in an effort to keep me from spending hours on Netflix and social media. The Boy From the Woods is a 10/10.
